For as long as I can remember, and long before I knew about or watched for the “Fall Equinox” there always came a day when the light in the air simply seemed to change.
I have no other way to explain it. As long as I can remember, a day would come when I would walk out of the door and suddenly become aware that the quality of the light outside had changed. The Earth was tilting. Again.
The Earth tilts. That means, among other things, that the Earth is always renewing its position, and since the Earth is far larger and far more important than any of us, that we are, by Her every move, being called, invited, beckoned–okay–challenged to change with Her. What does it mean in your life when the light begins to dim for a season? What does it mean in your life when the temperature begins to cool for a season? What does it mean when the colors of your life begin to change for a season? Is there any place in there where the Earth might be challenging us to reconsider, rebalance, rebound, redo, recognize, return or remove something in our lives?
Today is the day of the changing of the light, the tilt of the Earth, the Autumnal Equinox.
What does it call you to?
