I love going to the movies. When I was a child and I assure you I used to be one many moons ago, movies were rare. I only remember going to the movies around 7 times in my childhood. Yes, I was deprived.
I made sure my children had the joys of going to the movies. My daughter saw all the Disney princesses movies. Jalilas favorite princesses are Jasmine, Tiana and Mirabel. She has also seen all the Minions movies with or without Gru.
My son saw the Star Wars movies. It started with the one with Liam Neeson. I can’t remember the names of all the movies but I have seen all of them with Amancio. He is a Star Wars nerd and I’m a Trekkie. Go figure.
We saw the first Spider-Man movie with Tobey ( my favorite Spider-Man). I kept Amancio home from school so we could see the first showing. Amancio was 6 years old and Jalila was 7 months old. They may not remember it but they saw it. We saw the Matrix movies, Toy story and so many more. Oh, we have seen every Marvel movie. My son says I was a cool mom. Yes, I was.
Well, now they are grown and they can’t always go to the movies. Amancio told me to go by myself. Do I have the courage to do that?
Who’s going to wake me up if I fall asleep? What if I start snoring? Do I have the courage to go by myself?
I do have the courage. The first time was weird but I did it. I have gone by myself many times. I’m very proud of myself. I have my popcorn and soda. I feel free! That is a good thing!

This is a very good thing!! There are many activities we can do alone and I’m happy you have started that journey
There are many things that I do alone because my children are grown and they have their own things to do. I don’t want to stop doing things just because they are not with me.
Bravo, Rita! I love your courage.

Thank you!!!
It must be liberating to know and feel that you are your own Best friend!
It is very liberating. A bit of freedom.
