Repost: Mysteries of Life

A repost from December 28, 2023

The older I get the more I see that life is one mystery after another. Things that I do and things that others do. The way the world works is all a mystery to me.

I was driving and I was not driving fast enough for someone; that person decided to continuously honk at me.  They actually thought that honking would make me drive faster. Well, this older lady doesn’t get intimidated easily and I may have slowed down a little bit. It’s a mystery to me how that person thought I would go faster just because of the honking.

My Aunt Sara would make tortillas every Sunday. I remember that she would put butter on a freshly made tortilla and give it to me as a treat. I can tell you that my Aunt Sara’s tortillas were the best.  It’s a mystery to me why I never made fresh tortillas on Sundays. Why didn’t I follow Aunt Sara’s example? I don’t know.

Why is it that many of us can just turn a handle on the faucet and get hot and cold water in an instant. Others have to walk miles to get water. Still, others have a difficult time finding water.

Why do some people have soulmates and share their lives with each other?   Others will never have a soulmate and will live their lives alone.

Why do many people suffer from mental and health problems in ways that most days are a struggle? While it seems that other people get through most days without a second thought.

Why is the world so unfair in most things in life? I don’t know. It’s all a mystery to me. I wish that I could solve these mysteries and make life better for all of us.
