Rocks on the Path of Love

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
admit impediments . . .

~ Sonnet 116, by William Shakespeare

There are rocks on the Path of Love. And being a Kentucky hillbilly, I hate wearing shoes. But I will not leave the path. I will strive with my whole being to love the unlovely, including myself. The stones on my path are impatience, selfishness, narrowmindedness, and fear. Some days I hide in my head unable to face the hatreds in the world, in my community, and in myself. But there are days when I live instead in my heart of hearts, the place where I see clearly that all beings need love, comfort, compassion, patience and “Slack” in the rope of merciless judgments.

I love the world. I love my community. I love myself. So, I will continue to walk this path and someday achieve the goal of living into the action and the stillness of the Perfect Love that casts out fear.

Yin/Yang.. by Sherree

Passion, yes, and pain sublime
Perfect two hearts in rhythmic time.

For minds digress, disturb, dissent,
Opposing tracks of discontent.

In my pink imagination,
Words don’t end in conflagration,
Tears for fears of expectations,
Tomorrow crushed in hesitations.

Can heart matter over mind?
Can “Now” be NOT by “Past” confined?

May sugar taste of touch replace,
Mistrust with heart’s redeeming grace,

In my pink imagination,
Wholly fire brings integration,
Forgiveness brings true absolution,
Souls transcend slow evolution.

    Very inspiring, Sheree!

And, BTW, I too am a KY hillbilly. I eventually moved back, and now live on the edge of the Daniel Boone National Forest.

Your poetry is so personal, Sherree. You really know how to Mine for the deeper gems of self and soul. Once you see the potential, with clarity and pause, you can meld those gems into your pink imagination that guards you from stumbling over the rocks in the path.
